The Pilgrim’s Trail – 29 miles – 3 days – Winchester to Portsmouth. Stretching all the way from the heart of the kingdom of Wessex at Winchester, to Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy, The Pilgrim’s Trail connects the shrine of Saint Swithun amidst the South Downs, to the Abbey of Saint Michael overlooking the sea. This 29-mile British stage takes you all the way to the port of Portsmouth. Following a winding route through the rolling country of Southern England and the bocage of Northern France, pilgrims today are in good company – in medieval times, pilgrims known as Miquelots walked this way to worship on the continent.
Portsmouth Cathedral Pilgrimage in a Day – Start at Southwick Priory, Finish at Portsmouth Cathedral, 10 miles.
