#100Silences Pilgrimage Itinerary

This route connects departure (Southampton) with Return (Dover) and Burial (London). Southampton is where the British Expeditionary Force left from in 1914. Dover is where the body of the Unknown Soldier was brought back to Britain. And London is where this anonymous soldier, representing all the lost lads, was buried.

During this pilgrimage, we won’t be sleeping in BnBs or hotels. The aim is church sleeping. But if you have somewhere to offer, perhaps with electricity and a tumble dryer, we’d love to hear from you. Contact will (at) britishpilgrimage.org if you have somewhere in mind…

Meanwhile, here are the prospective war memorials along the route. The aim is to record 100 silences, but there are at least 214 along the path!
