Guided Pilgrimage Refund Policy
The British Pilgrimage Trust is a charity, and guided pilgrimages are an important fundraising activity that supports a wide variety of free resources and services we offer to both pilgrims and people creating pilgrimage infrastructure, across the UK. Sometimes our events involve costs by third parties such as deposits, booking fees or admission fees that cannot be recouped if a pilgrim cancels, and it may be necessary to pass on these costs to avoid impacting our charitable funds.
Cancellations by you:
If you cannot attend your pilgrimage please let us know at the earliest opportunity. You may transfer your ticket to a friend or family member, but you must let us know in advance so that we can register their information for safety and essential communication purposes. Please contact the email address or phone number in your order confirmation.
1-Day Pilgrimages and other events
Cancellations made a minimum of 7 working days prior to the pilgrimage may receive a transfer to an alternative date or a refund of the full ticket price minus any booking fees or costs.
Cancellations made within 7 working days of the pilgrimage may receive a one time transfer of the same value to an alternative pilgrimage, within a year of the cancellation. Refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances and are at the discretion of the British Pilgrimage Trust.
Multi Day Pilgrimages and other events
Cancellations made a minimum of 1 month prior to the pilgrimage may receive a transfer to an alternative date within 1 year of the cancellation date, or a refund of the full ticket price minus any booking fees or costs.
Cancellations made within 1 month of the pilgrimage may receive a refund only if we are able to resell your ticket. Transfers or refunds without resale will only be given in exceptional circumstances and are at the discretion of the British Pilgrimage Trust.
Donations on free guided pilgrimages
If you have given a donation towards a free guided pilgrimage, transfers or refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances and are at the discretion of the British Pilgrimage Trust.
Postponement by the British Pilgrimage Trust
In the event that the British Pilgrimage Trust needs to postpone a pilgrimage, you will be automatically offered a place on the rescheduled pilgrimage, and if you are unable to attend the new date, a transfer to an alternative pilgrimage. Please note that if you choose a pilgrimage with a higher ticket price you will need to pay the difference. If you prefer, you may request a full refund minus any booking fees or costs, as long as this is within 1 week of notification of the new date.
Cancellations by the British Pilgrimage Trust
In the unlikely event that the British Pilgrimage Trust needs to cancel a pilgrimage, you will be automatically offered a voucher for a transfer to an alternative pilgrimage. Transfer vouchers are valid for a year from the date of issue, and can be used on any pilgrimage of equal or greater value without incurring further booking fees. Please note that if you choose a pilgrimage with a higher ticket price you will need to pay the difference. If you prefer, you may request a full refund minus any booking fees.
