Via Beata
The Via Beata, or Way of Blessing, from Lowestoft to St Davids, 400 miles
The Via Beata pilgrimage route runs across the UK from East to West at its widest point, from Lowestoft to St Davids. The name 'Via Beata' means way of blessing and this fully mapped route goes through some of the most beautiful places in the country.
One of the reasons this walk is special is because every 10 miles of the route there is a hand carved artwork with a story from the Bible. These are generally made from British grown Oak and carved at the Via Beata headquarters in mid Norfolk. Artworks are housed in a shelter which acts as a resting point for pilgrims walking the route.
Some pictures of the art work can be found on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/via_beata/

Discover holy places, and bring your own beliefs.
Pilgrimage by foot is connected with places and landscape, and how those places make you feel. Read about holy places.
At the British Pilgrimage Trust, we believe a pilgrimage should be made on an individual’s own terms. We are founded on the principle that we can all bring our own beliefs to the journey, accessible and welcoming to all.
