The Way of Annunciation, Norwich to Houghton St Giles - 39 miles, 4 days
A pilgrimage between important Christian sites in the Catholic Diocese of East Anglia
The Annunciation is the visit of the Archangel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary when she was told that she was to bear a son and this is celebrated within the Christian faith on 25th March each year.
Starting at Norwich's Cathedral of St John the Baptist, this pilgrimage winds through picturesque countryside, following the Wensum and Walsingham Ways on old railway track beds, quiet lanes and rural farmland. Along the way, you'll encounter historic sites such as the former Saxon Cathedral at Elmham and the Church of St Anthony of Padua in Fakenham. The pilgrimage culminates at the Church of the Annunciation in Little Walsingham, inviting reflection and spiritual connection.
Whether you're seeking a profound spiritual experience or a scenic walk through England's rich heritage, the Way of Annunciation offers a memorable adventure.
