The Holystone Way, Newcastle to the Lady's Well at Holystone - 54 miles, 5 days
A pilgrimage from the heart of Newcastle to the iconic Lady's Well at Holystone, dating back to the 5th Century
St Ninian in the 5th Century and St Paulinus in the 7th Century are both associated with the beautiful Lady's Well in Holystone which is the end point of this pilgrimage.
The journey there winds through forests and farmland as well as some suburban walking, passing by many of the Catholic churches in this diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. You also join St Oswald's Way for part of the journey.

At the British Pilgrimage Trust, we believe a pilgrimage should be made on an individual’s own terms. We are founded on the principle that we can all bring our own beliefs to the journey, accessible and welcoming to all.
