Saint Andrew’s Way – Edinburgh to Saint Andrews – 90 miles, 9 days
Once a popular pilgrimage route with medieval pilgrims, Saint Andrew’s Way has recently been brought to glorious restoration. Culminating at Saint Andrew’s Cathedral, this route also takes in far more than the region’s Christian heritage – from the dramatic rocks of Arthur’s Seat, to the splendid Forth Bridges, to Loch Leven and Vane Farm nature reserve, there are special places of all kinds to be found in the footsteps of Scotland’s patron saint.
Low-cost hostels along route – Edinburgh hostels one, two and three and across region.
Visit the official St Andrews Way website.

Discover holy places, and bring your own beliefs.
Pilgrimage by foot is connected with places and landscape, and how those places make you feel. Read about holy places.
At the British Pilgrimage Trust, we believe a pilgrimage should be made on an individual’s own terms. We are founded on the principle that we can all bring our own beliefs to the journey, accessible and welcoming to all.
