The Meon Valley Churches Walk: Titchfield to East Meon – 25 miles, 3 days
Enter the heartland of the Meonwara – “The Meon People” – a tribe of Saxons mentioned by the Venerable Bede in his Ecclesiastical History.
The Meon Valley is a holy place; it was here that Saint Wilfred lived and walked, raising churches as he followed the path of the river. Beginning at Titchfield, the modern pilgrimage route hugs the River Meon as it travels from Wickham to Corhampton, before finishing at East Meon.
Low-cost hostels along route – East Meon (near route); and across region.

Discover holy places, and bring your own beliefs.
Pilgrimage by foot is connected with places and landscape, and how those places make you feel. Read about holy places.
At the British Pilgrimage Trust, we believe a pilgrimage should be made on an individual’s own terms. We are founded on the principle that we can all bring our own beliefs to the journey, accessible and welcoming to all.
