St Mary's Church, Apuldram
Church Road, Appledram Lane South, Chichester, PO20 7EF
12th Century Grade 1 listed church in rural setting with modern attached hall, small kitchen and separate access.
St Mary’s church is tucked away in fields close to Chichester Harbour, a tranquil, rural setting. Accommodation is available in a modern annexe or in the church if preferred. Tea and coffee is on hand in the kitchen. Apuldram is a hamlet with no shops so if you wish to self-cater we suggest shopping en route in the small town of Emsworth. For an evening meal try the Crown and Anchor (crownandanchorchichester.com) at Dell Quay, a fifteen minute harbour side walk from the church. Also nearby are Crouchers Hotel (www.crouchersorchards.co.uk) and Thyme and Chillies (thymeandchillies.co.uk), both a 20 minute walk using a busy road. Booking is essential for all these restaurants. Breakfast may be available at Apuldram Manor Farm close by the church. Contact a couple of days in advance for availability. Chichester has many places to eat. The bus (52 or 53) runs every 15 minutes along the A286, a 15 minute walk from the church.
