Signing up support

Many of our pilgrims are already Friends of BPT, but there are always some new people taking their first steps into pilgrimage. Sometimes you’ll find they have been so inspired by their experience with you that they want to know more about how they can get involved.

Don’t worry! We’re not expecting you to do a sales pitch or anything like that, but it is a good idea to be aware of what the options are should someone ask so you can help them. If you have a smartphone, we strongly recommend you have our website saved as a favourite so it is easy to point people in the right direction.

Mailing List

The best way to keep up to date with the next batch of guided pilgrimage dates, news, stories and events, we always recommend everyone signs up on the mailing list. They can do this at the bottom of any page on our website.

Become a Friend

There are different levels of Friend, from £24 a year to £800 for life. They have a different range of benefits depending on the level people opt for, but include some fantastic discounts, exclusive access and even free guided pilgrimages! You can find out more about these here: https://britishpilgrimage.org/become-a-friend/

Donations

Sometimes pilgrims want to make donations to say thank you. The best way to do this is via our PayPal giving fund, or BACS, so that payments are secure. You can find that here: https://britishpilgrimage.org/donate/

If they would like to donate with cash, we are happy for you to accept that on our behalf and make an online payment in kind. Just make sure the pilgrim knows what will happen!

Old Way Online Guide

You might also like to recommend our Old Way Online Guide. It’s a bargain at just £10, and includes all the information they need to make pilgrimage on the Old Way, one of the most inspiring pilgrimage routes in Britain. All the information you need to explain the benefits of the guide can be found here: https://britishpilgrimage.org/about-the-old-way-online-guide/

If you would like some specific training on how to promote the Friends scheme let us know.
