Waltham Abbey to St Albans Cathedral

2 day pilgrimages, South East England & London

Waltham Abbey to St Alban’s Cathedral – 24 miles – 2 days. This pilgrimage links two major pilgrimage centres and Abbey churches. Waltham Abbey (Augustinian), was the last abbey to be dissolved and where pilgrims flocked to a famed piece of the Holy Cross. The Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Alban (Benedictine), has been for over 1,700 years a major pilgrimage centre to St Alban’s tomb – England’s first martyr.
