A Day to Lincoln Cathedral

1 day pilgrimages, West & East Midlands

A Day to Lincoln Cathedral – 1 Day (9 miles from Coleby, 11 miles from Navenby). Walk the Viking Way along the Dragon’s Back of the Lincoln Ridge in a straight line to the Cathedral. In a short distance visit a high density of churches, and a brand new (impressive) International Bomber Command Centre with its 30-ft high Memorial and Walls of Names, all interspersed with stunning views atop the ridge across the flat landscape below. Then you descend to enter the city of Lincoln through its medieval gate, and then climb the magical ‘Steep Hill’ to arrive at the Cathedral, hopefully in time for Evensong…

This route is conceived by the British Pilgrimage Trust, and follows the well sign-posted National Trail the ‘Viking Way’ the whole way.
