This exhibition show-cases a series of drawings and paintings made along the road when Jennifer walked from London to Canterbury earlier in the year. She followed in Chaucer’s pilgrim’s fictional footsteps along the ancient pilgrimage route to Canterbury Cathedral, and charted the landscape as it is today.
The paintings and story of the journey have been made into a book which will also be available from the exhibition. The book describes the highs and lows of the journey, and reflects on pilgrimage in medieval times and its renewed popularity in recent times.
The exhibition is being held at Eastbridge Hospital which was once a place where pilgrims received hospitality on their arrival in Canterbury, it dates back to the 12th century.
Exhibition runs from 7th September - 14th September at Eastbridge Hospital. £3 admission to the building and exhibition.
