St Cedd’s Pilgrimage

0-50 miles, 2-day Pilgrimages, East England

St Cedd’s Pilgrimage – 24 miles – 2 days – Southminster to Southminster (circular route). Tracing a figure of eight across the marshes and fields of the Dengie Peninsula in Essex, this pilgrimage begins and ends in the town of Southminster – home to a large church and Iron Age earthworks. The chapel of St. Peter-on-the-Wall – one of the oldest intact churches in England – welcomes you at the midpoint of your journey. As you travel beneath the big skies for which East Anglia is known, allow the wind and singing of birds to soothe away the stresses of modern life.
